About this journal
The Orient Journal of Medicine (OJM) is a peer-reviewed, international journal dedicated to publishing original research and reviews in the field of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and other Asian traditional medicine systems. It covers a wide range of topics, including acupuncture, moxibustion, herbal medicine, tuina massage, and other modalities. The journal aims to promote the scientific understanding and clinical application of these therapies, fostering a deeper understanding of their efficacy and mechanisms of action.
OJM's key themes encompass the intersection of traditional Asian medicine with modern scientific inquiry. The journal encourages research utilizing clinical trials, basic research, and meta-analysis to investigate the effectiveness, safety, and mechanisms of action of TCM therapies. Articles exploring the integration of TCM with conventional medicine, as well as the ethical and philosophical underpinnings of traditional healing practices, are also welcome.
The journal's target audience includes a diverse group of practitioners and researchers. These include TCM practitioners, acupuncturists, herbalists, researchers in complementary and alternative medicine, medical professionals interested in integrative medicine, and students pursuing studies in TCM. OJM provides a platform for the dissemination of research findings and scholarly discussions within the TCM community and beyond, bridging the gap between traditional knowledge and modern scientific inquiry.
OJM plays a significant role in advancing the field of Traditional Chinese Medicine by promoting rigorous research, facilitating knowledge exchange, and raising awareness of the potential benefits of TCM. Its publications contribute to the evidence base supporting TCM therapies and inform clinical practice, ultimately advancing the integration of TCM into healthcare systems worldwide.
