About this journal

The Indo-Pacific Journal of Phenomenology (IPJP) is a scholarly publication dedicated to exploring the rich landscape of phenomenological thought within the context of the Indo-Pacific region. Its scope encompasses a wide range of philosophical inquiries, including but not limited to, the lived experience, consciousness, intersubjectivity, embodiment, and the relationship between self and world. The journal welcomes diverse approaches to phenomenology, from traditional continental philosophy to contemporary trends in critical phenomenology, existentialism, and hermeneutics.

A key theme that permeates the IPJP is the exploration of the unique cultural and historical contexts that shape lived experience within the Indo-Pacific. Articles may focus on the intersection of phenomenology with indigenous traditions, religious perspectives, artistic expressions, and socio-political realities of the region. The journal seeks to foster a dialogue between phenomenological thought and the diverse philosophical and cultural traditions of the Indo-Pacific, bridging the gap between Western and Eastern perspectives.

The target audience of the IPJP encompasses scholars, researchers, and students in the fields of philosophy, phenomenology, cultural studies, and related disciplines. The journal aims to serve as a platform for the dissemination of cutting-edge research and the fostering of intellectual exchange between academics and practitioners within the Indo-Pacific region and beyond.

The IPJP strives to make a significant impact by contributing to the development of a robust phenomenological discourse within the Indo-Pacific. By promoting interdisciplinary dialogue and fostering critical engagement with the lived experiences of diverse cultures and communities, the journal aims to enrich the understanding of human consciousness and the meaning of being in the world.
